MAS Surveys provide detailed and specific IT Surveys for the various verticals
such as commodities, energy, and finance. MAS Surveys, has
extensive experience and established methodologies to support the surveys. Surveys
are undertaken on a syndicated, ad hoc, and subscription basis. In the
case of the subscription, MAS funds major multiple surveys annually with the
results provided via the IT Survey online sites on a subscription basis.
Syndicated surveys are sponsored by a variety of vendors from different
IT segments. Syndicated surveys do not include proprietary questions but rather broad based and
detailed analysis adoption such as Internet technologies for trading rooms. Ad hoc surveys are
work for hire projects where the survey results are for specific clients and specific purposes
and the responses are provided solely to the client.
MAS funded surveys are annual and focused on 20 different sectors in financial information
technology and 10 different sectors in energy information technology.
These surveys are utilized in MAS market and vendor analysis, Industry
Spend Rate Analysis, and the W Series (see Research for Finance and Energy).
Surveys are also undertaken of the buy side to identify purchasing trends, replacement
motivators, and displacement obstacles. Surveys of the supply side, the “vendor
community”, are undertaken to verify technology adoption and sales trends.
MAS Surveys provide quantitative as well as in-depth qualitative data. Quantitative
surveys include comprehensive global and country market sizing to trading room
sizing for turret technology deployment to understanding of risk management
technology adoption in various sophistication tiers of the market.
Surveys include detailed sector surveys for areas such as risk management in finance
or trading technology adoption for regional energy markets such as Nord Pool and CalPX.
